Attracting Winter Wildlife Event For Adults

Cardinals of Winter Katie Laurson, Activities Coordinator at Honey Creek Resort and State Park, will be presenting the program "Attracting Winter Wildlife".  The program includes information on the wildlife that is found in the Appanoose county area throughout the winter. You will learn how to bring your landscape alive by attracting watchable wildlife. Any adults are welcome to attend. Mark your calendars for this very informative and interesting program brought to you in partnership with Drake Public Library and Honey Creek Resort and State Park.

Author Visit – Writers Come Home

Garry Cox (CHS 1960) will be reading from his book of poetry, The Waters of Appanoose County . Kathryn Wood (CHS 1958) will be reading from her book, An Unbroken Promise. Join these two CHS alums as they share their poetry and storytelling skills with an audience of old and new friends.

"Come-N-See" the newly renovated Drake Public Library at their open house Saturday, October 6, from 10am until 2pm.  The Swab Reading Room will be dedicated to the memory of Bill and Jane Swab at 2:00.  Their generous memorial donation started off the renovation of our beautiful historic building.
