Genealogy items include books, microfilm, and clip books The library’s microfilm collection includes Daily Iowegian newspapers dating back into the 1800’s. The local census records are also on microfilm. The library’s microfilm reader and microfilm collection are housed on the main level of the library. Upstairs in the Iowa Room, the Genealogical Society has many records on file. Death records, funeral home records, obituary clippings, and individual family history books are all available for use. These items do not circulate, but the pages can be photocopied.
Genealogy requests can be emailed to the library. The library staff works on genealogy requests when the time permits. For more information, email the library.
